Teachers arrive at work in the morning eager to face the children, the buses and the excitement of a new day. They never expect to find a dog waiting outside the main door of their school. This is exactly what happened at an elementary school in Houston, Texas. The dog was already sitting outside the main door of the institution.
Caleb Shaffer, a teacher in the small town of Columbia Falls, Montana, came to work one morning to see a wonderful dog waiting for him at the door. The dog wagged its tail at Schaeffer, but he had to hurry to class, so he walked next to the animal. He couldn’t stop thinking about the lab mix that was outside the school building, so he went back to check if anything had changed. Unfortunately, the dog was gone when he got there.
The dog did not succeed while being pursued by animal control. Surely the next morning the dog was at the door again, and Shaffer noticed him. The man repeated his tactics, and the dog left again later in the day. He noticed how terrible the dog’s skin looked, how he howled and scratched in it.
Finally, on the third day, the dog was there and Shaffer made some movement. He walked to his engine, called the dog, and the Hound got right into the car with him. He returned home with his wife so that he could work because Schafer could not support him. Despite this, he sought contact with a variety of rescue groups. No one has a room available. He was brought to a nearby animal shelter where he received basic treatment and a bath before being turned off.
Clive called him and posted photos to the urgent shelter pets of Houston Facebook group… Fortunately, lucky lap watched the rescue and adoption video and immediately arranged for a foster home. Schafer tells the tale to his class. In an interview with The Dodo, he said: “there are a lot of electrolytes here. He gave me an opportunity to educate about sterilization, neutering, heartworm prevention, and the realities of shelters.”
